Oscar Stembridge: You Can Make Your Dreams a Reality

Oscar has been performing and making music at a very young age. He began playing the piano at five years old and quickly progressed to acoustic guitar, ukulele and drums.

He has always felt a calling to perform - singing and playing live performances since he was six years old. He has built up a strong global following on social media and now has more than 150,000 followers. He started to share his musical talents on social media at the age of seven, initially on Instagram covering a wide range of music styles and artists including rock, pop and reggae. His Guns N' Roses covers have reached over 2.8M views.

Why and when did you start singing?

When I was little, before I could even talk, I was humming tunes all the time. I am bilingual and ended up talking quite late, so I was communicating with people in this way. When I was 5, I started playing the piano, and when I was 6, I got my first guitar. Then I started on the ukulele and finally the drums a few years ago. I just fell in love with playing and singing very early and love spending my time doing it.

What are your favourite styles?

I love all sorts of music, but I guess my favourite music is more like classic rock to pop. I love taking old classics and making them my own with a little twist. The music I have been releasing so far has been more pop music. But I do listen to everything from jazz to classical to rock.

Who or where do you get your inspiration from?

I get my inspiration from Queen, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Guns n Roses, Lukas Graham and many more. Basically loads of different sounds and styles!

Any exciting events you took part, shows, competitions, concerts etc.

I have many gigs booked this year. I will be playing at the Heyou Awards ceremony this March and on the big stage at Liseberg in May. There are some other big and exciting news, but I simply can't share them with you just yet.

What's the biggest challenge you've faced thus far in your career?

I guess it must have been when I played live at the climate strike in Stockholm in front of 60,000 people in September last year. I also performed live on Swedish national television last summer on Sweden's biggest music program Allsång på Skansen in front of 1.4million viewers.

What are your career goals?

I would love to be an artist that everyone sings along to, and that can really capture people's hearts and imagination. I often dream of selling out Madison Square Garden!

Is your family supportive?

My family is the best! My two sisters are amazing, and my parents support me all the time! I love them so much.

Words to live by?

"Always believe that you can make your dreams a reality!"
